JoAnn is a proud graduate of the esteemed Karen Pryor Academy, where she honed her skills and is now licensed as a Family Dog Mediator, specializing in training across Shelter and Working Divisions. Her professional journey is further enriched by her experience as a veterinary technician, during which she dedicated her time to a local animal shelter. Additionally, she is the founder and operator of her own dog training enterprise, known as Premier K9 LLC.

With over fifteen years of experience working with animals in diverse environments, JoAnn has developed a comprehensive understanding of various species. Her impressive repertoire includes hands-on experience with dolphins, sea lions, stingrays, cats, skunks, and snakes, showcasing her versatility and commitment to animal care.

In her current role, JoAnn leads various training initiatives, including group training classes, volunteer training sessions, enrichment programs, behavioral modification strategies, foster home visits, and personalized in-home training for clients. 

Her primary focus areas are the training and behavioral modification of puppies and high-energy and drive dogs. JoAnn has a passion for demonstrating to her clients effective methods to channel their dogs’ natural instincts in a positive manner. This approach not only enhances the dogs' skills but also fosters a deeper bond between the humans and their canine companions. 

Residing in the northern region of Illinois, JoAnn shares her home with her husband, Brian, and their beloved pets: Dulce, a delightful Havanese/Pekingese mix; Wrangler, an energetic American Bulldog/Pit Bull Terrier and Cattle Dog mix; Spree, a spirited and intelligent Belgian Malinois; and Kate, a charming cat. In her free time, JoAnn enjoys competing with her dogs in various sports.
